Sotheby’s will soon launch a series of contemporary art sales featuring the collection of pioneering video game executive, Ryan Brant (founder of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead).
The first auction titled “Contemporary Curated” will be held in New York City, spotlighting over 25 works by KAWS including signed and numbered tondo paintings by the Brooklyn artist valued upwards of $350,000 USD. The second installment will be hosted in the dealer’s Hong Kong outpost, spotlighting more abstract paintings by KAWS alongside a large oil on canvas piece by Kenny Scharf dubbed ‘Humidungle’ (pre-estimate sale of $109,000 USD). The third sale returns to New York, focusing on interior pieces including the ‘Cartoon’ sofa by acclaimed furniture designers, Fernando and Humberto Campana.
